Prelim Task

Who did you work with and how did you manage the task between you?
Within the prelim task I worked with Emma, Kieran, Richard. we all took part in acting within the minute that we filmd. Most of the filming was done by Charlie Ann and all the editing was done by Emma.
How did you plan your sequence? What processes did you use?
When working out the sequence to how we are going to film we watched the music video a lot of times so that we could work out how many shots there were. Once we had done this we worked out how long each of the lyrics go on for so that we would be able to get everything in time for when we did it ourselves.
What theories could you apply to the video you chose?
When we decided on the music video that we was going to film within the surrondings of a school, this made it easier for us to film and get more people involed when we needed extra actors. Both the lyrics and music video realate and we tried comparing this as best as we can. A lot of Andrew Goodwin theories were involed in our music video.
What technology did you use to complete the task, and how did you use it?
When completing the task we used a software called premere, this let us edit the shots that we had filmed and also add in music to the video we had chose to film.
What factors did you have to take into account when planning, shooting and editing?
How successful was your music video copy?
When filming our music video we had to think of a lot of factors, we needed to make sure that we filmed ourself doing the same moves and lip syncing the same lyrics. When editing the shots that we filmed we had to make sure that it syned in well with the song.
Please identify what worked well, and with hindsight, what would you improve/do differently? What did others say about your production?
Within the time we took to film our prelim task the things that went well was how well we got the shots done together and how well the lip sinking went. i would improve the time that it took for us to get the shots right over and over again, and i would practice the shots a lot more before filming to make sure that shots were done in better time so we could move on and do more shots.
What have you learnt from completing this task? Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing your music video, do you think?
When completing this task we learnt a lot of things that should and shouldnt be included in our offical music video. The way that the our music video was edited was something that we would also be doing in our offical video. How long it took for us to plan how the music video was going to be filmed was a weakness. For our offical music video we will have to make sure that the location we want to use are free for when we are filming and that all the actors are confident with what they will be doing.
How does it compare with filming an opening to a film?
When filming an opening to a film it took a lot more time as it had to be longer. when working on a music video it was more fun because it was a music video that we had chose and it was also something that we enjoyed doing. when working on the music video it was something we wouldnt get bored of and wouldnt mind if we had to keep doing the same shots whereas when we was filming and opening to a film it was the same actors and people got bored of keep doing the same thing. it was also easier doing a music video as it was based in a school and it could be done throughout school hours whereas when we were filming a film opening it could of done outside of school.
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a group member?
When working within the group that i worked with, the strength was that people that were not in the group were still willing to help out within our group, Also the group that we did work with we got on well and managed to film well. The weakness of our group was that throughout the times that we were filming a lot of out group were absent and we couldnt film the bits they had to be in till later on.

Student Videos

Today we began planning and researching some student videos to help give us an idea of what the final outcomes of our video should look like.
Below I have posted some of the  previous student videos which we examined in order to look for inspiration and ideas for our music videos, as well as giving us an idea of what it takes to achieve the top grades in this project, and how these groups went about doing this.
